Hey!

I’m André Rival — an art director who believes a good idea beats a thousand slides.

I’ve been doing this for 24 years now. Worked at DM9DDB, AlmapBBDO, NeogamaBBH, Leo Burnett and currently at Publicis Brasil. Along the way, I’ve created for brands like Disney, Visa, Heineken, Nestlé, Volkswagen, HP, LG, Wal-Mart, Universal Pictures, Carrefour, Ferrero, Nutella, Kinder, Mobil, GSK, Advil, Havaianas, Mentos, Telefónica, Whirlpool, Renault, Asics, Vivo, Bradesco, Ambev, O Boticário, GOL Airlines, Cyrela Realty, Ypê, Achê, Eno and Kopenhagen. (Yeah, it’s been a ride.)

My background is in graphic and digital design — which still helps when it comes to taste, layout and getting things done. But for a long time now, I’ve been way more into the idea. The thought behind it. The twist that makes it work.

From 2014 to 2019, I also taught art direction and creativity at Escola Cuca — which kept me sharp, curious, and in touch with fresh minds.

And since we’re talking about staying sharp: I’ve been deep into creative AI tools lately. I use them daily — from concept exploration to image generation — as part of my workflow.

Outside of advertising, I’m also an electronic music producer — another way I use to explore ideas and build experiences.

I believe good ideas don’t need to scream. They just need to land. And I like to be part of the whole thing — from first scribble to final file.
